Michael Smith ADCRG

We are delighted and honored once again to announce that we are under contract with Michael Smith for 2024.  All dancers at the Dwyer School will have the opportunity to work with Michael.  It is highly recommended that all dancers attend his workshops and experience the highest level of instruction.

Michael is considered one of the top Irish Dance Choreographers and Adjudicators in the world.  He was chosen to choreograph for the 50th World Championships Opening Ceremony to be held in Dublin, Ireland in April 2020.  He is the lead choreographer for the North American dance piece of the An Re Ogra celebration.  Unfortunately due to the cancellation of the World Championships two years in a row, the An Re Orga piece did not make it to the stage.  

His constant innovation of new material has taken Irish Dance in North America to a higher competitive standard.  Both he and his wife, Noreen, taught the Smith-Houlihan Academy in Boston, MA. Their children, Ashley and Cian, are both accomplished Champion dancers. Their daughter is one of the most decorated North American dancers with three World Championship titles.
